A national arts program that encourages students to express their ideas, creativity, and talents through the arts.

Call for Entries 2027
 
This Year’s Theme

 

“What My Culture Means to Me”

 

Students in Pre-K through grade 12 are invited to create an original work inspired by this year’s theme, in one or more of six categories — one entry per category.

 

  • Dance Choreography
  • Film Production
  • Literature
  • Music Composition
  • Photography
  • Visual Arts

Accessible Arts: Reflections also offers an Accessible Arts division for students with disabilities who receive services under IDEA or Section 504.

 
How to Enter

Due Monday, November 30 by 4:00 P.M.

Read the rules thoroughly and create an original work.

Add a title and artist statement. Include a 10–100 word artist statement explaining the artwork and how it relates to this year’s theme.

Submit electronically. All entries must be submitted online using the entry form below, which also includes the full contest rules.

Visual Arts & Photography only: also drop off a physical copy, along with the entry form, in the Reflections box at your school’s front office.

Awards Ceremony

Wednesday, February 24, 2027 · IMS Commons

All participants and award recipients will be recognized and celebrated. Selected Mercer Island entries will advance to Washington State PTA judging, with top state entries eligible to advance to the National PTA competition.
