Membership

There is no better way to connect with other parents, hear about important decisions and changes at the school, and to provide input on how we support our children's education. Your Island Park PTA membership provides you voting privilege at our PTA Membership meetings and voting representation for children's advocacy at the State and Federal Level.

A portion of the PTA fee goes toward the National and Washington State PTA Membership Service Fees and the remaining portion goes to cover the expense of offering an online Island Park School Directory. Washington State PTA is the largest volunteer association dedicated to the education, health, welfare, and safety of all children in Washington state. When you join PTA, you support local, state and national efforts to improve the lives of children and their families.

In addition, PTA Members receive these benefits:

• Access Island Park Directory: Only paid Island Park PTA members will receive access to the password-protected online school directory.
• Attend MI Parent Edge events: PTA members receive free or reduced admission to all MI Parent Edge events. Check out this year's calendar of parenting speakers and programs at www.miparentedge.org.
• Discounts: PTA members receive exclusive discounts via the WA State PTA.

If I join, do I have to?

• Go to meetings?
  No. You are welcome to attend our general meetings though.
  
  
• Volunteer or spend a lot of time at school?
  Nope! Joining the PTA is not the same as volunteering. If you choose to volunteer we would LOVE the help—but volunteering is not required.
