Kindergarten Summer Playdate

Our last summer playdate for incoming Kindergarteners is on Tuesday, August 27th at 2 pm. Come play at the Island Park playground with new friends and get acquainted with the Island Park Community. Siblings are welcome. Hope to see you there!

Back-to-School Info

Back-to-School Parent Pack will be available on Friday, August 30th at 4:30 pm. Don't forget to complete the required MISD RSVP and check your child's teacher placement via Skyward before completing the parent pack!

Reminder: you will need to confirm/update your family and student information when you login. This ensures that all our data is accurate and up to date for the school directory and the PTA newsletter mailing list.

What is Parent Pack? Parent Pack allows you to take care of the following back-to-school needs from the comfort of your mobile device or desktop:

• Pay Student Fees (school supplies and field trips for the year);
• Join the PTA. Your membership grants you full access to the password-protected online school directory. This is a great resource for parents to lookup class email list for birthday or playdates invites;
• Donate to the PTA Ask Campaign (see Where Your Money Goes);
  
• Donate an Eagle Birthday Book to the Island Park library;
• Purchase your Island Park Yearbook (delivery in June);
• Purchase Spirit Wear.

Island Park Open House

All families are welcome to come to school on September 3rd between 11 am -12 pm (only) to visit your child's new classroom, say hello to his/her teacher, and get a tour of the school.

Kindergarten families will also meet their child's teacher during scheduled Family Connection Conferences on September 4-6. They are welcome to come both days.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering is one of the best ways in which parents can support the student and staff at our school. We are still looking for volunteers for these chair positions:

Room Parent Coordinator; Picture Day, Vision and Hearing Screening.

We also need volunteers before school starts to help with making copies for the teachers in preparation for the new school year.

After-School Enrichment at Island Park

As a service to the Island Park community, the PTA helps to coordinate before and after school activities throughout the year. The activities take place on the Island Park campus, which makes participation easy and convenient.

2019-20 Fall session will run from September 30 to December 13. Registration will begin after school starts -- be on the lookout for the registration email!
